Safety first
Before you pay, verify.
Auto-published listings are screened for obvious risk signals, but that does not prove ownership or guarantee the advertiser. Only listings carrying the KejaYetu Verified label have the platform’s separate verification status.
Stop if you are being rushed to pay.
A demand for a deposit, booking fee or viewing fee before you can reasonably verify the person and property is a major warning sign.
Before viewing or paying
- Confirm the exact location and that the property exists.
- Confirm the advertiser has authority to rent or sell it.
- Ask for a clear breakdown of rent/price, deposit and every extra fee.
- Inspect the property or use a trusted person where practical.
- Keep written records and use traceable payments.
- Do not share OTPs, PINs, passwords, card details or mobile-money PINs.
Report suspicious activity
Use the report link on a property page or the Contact page. Include the listing reference and what happened. Do not upload sensitive financial credentials.
